Autumn Home Tour

Home in Autumn,

by Elizabeth Phillips

Our home is filled with autumn here and there,

Warm colors everywhere.

Dry flowers and faux flowers fill the air.

Copper and metals add some glare,

Candles light up the room with flare.

I’m still holding on to autumn here! I usually transition my winter decor the week of Thanksgiving. What about you? Are you transitioning to winter or are you holding on to fall?

Front Porch

Last year I painted the front door. ( Fabulous Red, Valspar Duramax Exterior Satin ) I haven’t given our front entry too much attention but were working on making some changes. I will keep you posted. I put up my autumn sign I made a few years ago, along with some faux sunflowers.

Gallery Wall in Dining Room

I love the soft tan color of these candles from Hobby Lobby. I brought out my clay fruit bowl a gift from my brother. Displayed between the copper pumpkin and lantern.

I’ve had this dried stem wreath for years and I added some of my dried zinnias, silver dollar leaves and dried rattlesnake plant. I love the natural soft colors.

My favorite copper pumpkin! It had a partner, but was lost during the 2016 flood. Happy this one survived!

I absolutely love this Better Homes & Garden lantern I purchased at Walmart.

Dried flowers in a vase and sweet gum pods make this fall vignette.

I planted some gourds in my garden a couple of years ago and they have been drying in my garden shed since. They were finally ready this year to paint!

Kitchen Island & Buffet

I found these beautiful faux silver dollar stems at Hobby Lobby.

Here are more of my painted gourds, I think they look lovely surrounding the fall greenery arrangement!

I found these pumpkin boards at Target a few years ago. They go perfect here on the buffet. The small white bowl with the apples, a Goodwill find.

I really love displaying my dry goods on the buffet, the pastas, sugars and beans add wonderful natural colors.

Vintage Hutch

For my hutch you will see some dry flowers, copper and metals, which speaks fall to me! I added some white ceramic pieces too!

These metal houses, another Walmart find.

The vintage electric coffee pot use to belong to my mother. She handed it down to me.

Home Sweet Home

Do you decorate the top of your fridge? This fall vignette, I purchase the fall leave stems from Hobby Lobby. My father in law gave me this cowbell, it once hung around one of his cows named Pinkie, when he was a child. My father in law is just over 80 years old and can you imagine how old this cowbell is! I filled the small lantern with small faux pumpkins. The owl I’ve had for awhile and the picture on the wall I found at Walmart.

Dining Room

What’s burning right now? In the kitchen I have this LYRD pumpkin pie candle from Avon. Wonderful scent.

Here is the one pumpkin I purchased this year! Ha-ha!

Faux sunflowers from JoAnn’s.

Fall Vignette

I always like making some kind of seasonal vignette on my singer sewing table. Books, fall faux flowers arrangement along with a white pumpkin, white pedestal bowl filled with pine cones and vintage lock and keys, speak fall.

For the center table centerpiece, I just added a runner added some pine cones and two gold pumpkin candle holders.

Master Bedroom

Our bedroom is pretty much eclectic. Most of the pieces we have are vintage finds from various antique shops and Goodwill.

For my fall decor I changed the bedding to my gray comforter we purchased from Target about 10 years ago.

The throw pillows were last year’s Christmas gift from my mother. She sewed these herself and I love them!

This is Dale’s nightstand. Don’t laugh! I simply added a single pine cone. I think it adds a little fall touch, don’t you?

New is this beautiful print we found at one of our favorite antique shops.

Elizabeth’s nightstand.

I also added a single pine cone on my side too! I made this fall flower arrangement using faux flowers, purchased at Hobby Lobby.

The colors I chose are purple, gray and soft greens.

What’s burning in the room? It’s LYRD candle from Avon. I am loving these candles, the scent lasts till the end!

To purchase candles go to my Avon Store

This gold frame floral print I found at Goodwill. I freshen it up by painting the gold & silver frame which gave it new life again!

Here are some of my dry zinnias from my garden. I love the deep colors. I added some wine corks to give the flowers some height.

I think the dry flowers compliment the floral print.

I hope you enjoyed my autumn tour! May you savior the fall season.

  1. Your home is so warm and inviting Elizabeth! I love all the fall touches you’ve added throughout. It’s the perfect way to celebrate the season. Hope your Thanksgiving and holiday season is a special one, CoCo

  2. Everything looks so lovely! I was hoping to pop in to the little coffee shop/art gallery in Sealy but noticed the windows were all covered. Have they closed? Or perhaps theyโ€™re just remodeling?

    • So sad that they closed. I hope an equally fun shop replaces it. Thanks for keeping me posted!

We will soon have a few new businesses and shops on the Square in Bellville and that will be so nice.
