April Home Decor

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog! April is one of my favorite months of the year! This time of year in Texas everything starts to turn green, the trees, the grass! April is also my birthday month! Dale usually takes me out to my favorite restaurant and we visit some antique shops, but due to the Covid-19 we will have to wait until May to celebrate! I promise I will make the best of it though!

I wanted to start this months post with my monthly home decor! It’s all about my kitchen area today!

Enjoy!

My kitchen hutch is great for seasonal decor! No shopping for me lately, so I shopped the house and put this together! On top of the hutch I placed some dried lavender and flowers in a couple of vases, along with a large lavender print I framed. You will see some of my white ceramics I incorporated. You will also find bunnies here and there!

I found a couple of framed herb prints to add to this shelf and a bird’s nest with small soft colored eggs, I’ve had for years. The round greenery I purchased at an antique shop back in February, they go perfectly in my white milk glass pedestals. The bunnies I found at Walmart last year. I like adding fresh fruit to any home decor!

Bunny pitcher goes perfectly here.

The Petite Flora Ironstone was a great find! Purchased at an antique shop year’s ago for under $50.00. We actually use this china often! Lately we have been using cloth napkins instead of paper due to the shortage.

Last year we remodel the kitchen, we added bead board to the kitchen back splash and wood trim around this window. Dale also installed a wider window ledge so that I can place potted plants on top if I want. The farmhouse sink was included with this Clayton Home model.

Top of the fridge you will see faux greenery I purchased at Walmart during the winter.

The HOME sign I made using recycled fence board.

What can I say! It really isn’t hard for us to self isolate ourselves! Dale and I truly enjoy our home! We have put our time and money to make this place our own, which makes it very easy for us to retreat here.

I hope you are enjoying your home! Take this time to rest and refresh! Be good to yourself! I’ve been treating myself daily with a specialty drink, for example a tea latte or coffee at mid morning and I enjoy some quite time. Believe me! I’m enjoying it now! Our schedules will come back! Ha-ha! When it does, I hope I will never be the same as I was before the Covid-19.

Until next time, Elizabeth

  2. Hello Elizabeth, I have been subscribed to you for a long time and I have always found your emails SO uplifting.I too love to decorate, it’s so rewarding to look at the end result. I have to say that with the situation we have in our lives right now it makes your emails even more welcomed and so wonderful to see. I totally enjoy every single minute of looking at your beautiful emails. I only wish that I lived in Texas and not Canada so that I could invite you and Dale over for a nice cup of coffee! Blessings to both of you.
