March Home Decor

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog! I hope you are doing well during this time of self isolation. Dale and I have know problem isolating ourselves, it’s like our own little world out here! The thing that bothers us the most, is not having a work schedule. Both of us are making the best of our free time here at home by keeping ourselves busy with some DIY projects. I’ve been making sure to do some exercises, either on my treadmill or free weights, which helps me physically and mentally. Another thing that helps, each morning we read, pray and then we talk about our goals for the day.

Speaking of goals! I’ve been wanting to post some kind of fun home decor! Spring is here! I thought I would share my dining room spring home decor for the month of March! Enjoy!

March Home Decor

I purchased the greenery at Wal-Mart during Winter. It makes a nice faux flower arrangement for Spring.

We have been using cloth napkins instead of paper lately. The last time we went shopping there was no paper goods, ALL SOLD OUT! No toilet paper, paper towels, nor napkins! Makes me wonder why I haven’t been using cloth instead of paper! In the past, I think paper is just easier to throw away then having to wash. But I realize adding the cloth napkins to my laundry isn’t that bad after all! Ha-ha! Maybe this will be the new norm from now on!

The dark candle sconces I’ve had for years, they look great next to the painting. I added some of my white ceramics to display on the buffet and placed some cotton stems in the large Better Homes & Garden pitcher, you can find at Wal-Mart.

I always love using books to decorate with. Books are good for propping things up and they just give an area some warmth. Cotton stems to me will never go out of style! You will usually find some kind of dried flowers in my home decor. Zinnias from my flower garden. You can never go wrong with some vintage hardware!

I found these ceramic bunnies a few years ago at an antique shop and so happy I purchased them! I usually display them around Easter time. I painted the mini pastel picture. Inspired by one of my spring photos. It took about 30 or 40 minutes to complete! This is a perfect time to try something new and fun!

Below is a picture I took when the bluebonnets were blooming here in Texas. Spring 2014 and was my inspiration for my mini pastel picture.

I hope you enjoyed my March Spring Home Decor! Plans have changed for posting my hallway picture gallery wall this month. Hopefully I will be able to post next month. Coming soon! River Crest guest House! Can’t wait to share!

Meanwhile, Dale and I are wishing you well during this unprecedented times.

May God’s peace be with you, until next time, the Phillips

  1. Yes! Love Spring. Even in these uncertain and concerning times it is important to stop and enjoy pretty decor. Your decor is so peaceful and beautiful. It is even more special with some of the history behind certain items. Thank you for sharing the home projects that you and Dale work on. You are both talented and inspiring. I always smile when I get a new post from Phillips Place!!! Thank you.
Prayers for everyone as we go through this.
