Hello and welcome to my blog! Today is the day! I am very excited to show you our master bedroom remodel! One of the many things I like about our home is the master bedroom size. The room measurements are 12 X 15. You could easily fit a king size bed, but we are queen size people.
I know I’m not a professional decorator, but I am my own decorator. Ha-ha! My decorating secret is (patience). Over time I have accumulated some décor pieces that I will explain to you through my pictures. Another important thing I kept in mind, while decorating our room, was my husband. Yes my love. I wanted the room to reflect us both.
Elizabeth & Dale’s Master Bedroom
I purchased the charcoal wrought iron bed at an online furniture store called, Wayfair. I chose this particular bed because even though it’s not vintage it looks vintage. The two nightstands were a great find. Read about them here.
I purchased these beautiful butterfly pictures from a boutique shop in Katy, Texas. Dale and I love anything that represents nature.
The Trinket Box we found at a antique store while visiting Bastrop, Texas. The two vintage books are Dale’s from when he was a young boy and the world piggy bank was also from his youth.
Let me tell you about our lamps! Before I went shopping for lamps, I knew I wanted clear lamps and went to three different stores and could not find any! Last but not least, I went to Wal-Mart and could not believe I found these Better Homes & Garden’s clear lamps! Perfect size and the perfect price! Wal-Mart never fails me! I love their Better Homes & Gardens home decor products.
I love shopping at antique stores for decor items. Now I know that not everything I find is considered antique. I do find vintage pieces and love the idea that I am re-using, which is recycling. The oval silver mirror and the two pictures on the wall are examples of my decor finds through out the years. The beautiful blue pitcher was a gift from a friend. I also like to browse different thrift stores, I don’t always purchase but when I find an item I know will go well somewhere, I buy!
I believe in simplicity.
I found these old sheet music and simply framed them. I’m a person that loves words, quotes and poems. I also love fonts! Absolutely beautiful!
Bedding is from Better Homes & Gardens quilts, another Wal-Mart find.
One of my favorite furniture pieces is our vintage dresser, a gift from Dale while on our honeymoon.
The vintage window we found at a boutique store for $25.00. Great find! Lamp from T.J. Maxx. Figurine was our wedding cake topper. Dried lavender placed in one of my milk glass collectibles. Books and things!
The window wall.
The piece of furniture you see here we found at a yard sale for $25.00. In the past we have used it for a TV stand, now it’s our window bench. Gray curtains I purchased at T.J. Maxx for $16.99 for a set of two. We think the custom trim looks fabulous!
I feel I’ve accomplished my vision for this room. The room is simple and serene.
The total cost for this DIY remodel was $150.00 which includes the paint, plywood, tempered wood and took 4 days to complete. Unbelievable! With a little TLC it can be done!
I appreciate you stopping by! Have a blessed week.
