Our latest project here at the Phillips Place is converting the second bedroom into an office/craft room. I want to show you pictures of the room before we start demolishing it. Nothing has been done to this room except for the closet doors, they were painted. Everything else you see is the original carpet, wall paper and trim. The room came with a small closet and the previous owners added another closet next to the original one. I definitely understand why, the home lacks closet space.
The view from the doorway.
Small original closet and additional closet.
Original blue trim and wallpaper.
The first thing we did, remove all the wall strips, baseboards and crown molding. Afterwards we removed the carpet.
We used a utility knife to cut the carpet into 3 foot strips, which makes it easier to roll and carry out.
Once we roll the carpet up Dale strings and ties it up!
Easy enough for me to left and carry out!
I am anxious to see the floors, like I suspect there is water damage to the floors under the window and by the wall next to our bathroom.
Demo the closets.
We can get a better look at the room once it’s clear. At this point our creative thinking comes to play. Ha-ha! Dale and I have the measuring tape and we think of all the possibilities for the room. It’s exciting! We both go back and forth with ideas. Then it comes down to it, we both become realistic on what we really need to do with the room. Some ideas die and some come to life!
“Enjoy the little things in life, because one day you will look back and realize they were the big things.”
I hope this perked your interest! Thank you for visiting Phillips Place Renovation!
