The master bathroom had a small shower that was not very comfortable to bathe in. We figured the space could be utilized better by making a closet instead of a shower that was not being used. (Wasted Space)
My husband took the shower out, which left the side were the water pipes are exposed. He capped the pipes and Dale used a piece of panel from the living room wall, to cover the exposed wall. The panel he took from the living room wall, he plans to replace later with a different material. We try to recycle what we can.
He replaced the floor with new plywood and added 3 inch baseboard trim.
Dale then painted the now new closet and the toilet area. Afterwards, we were able to put down vinyl tiles to the area and the future dressing room.
Prepping the floors. Cement Based Patching Compound was used to even the floor and correct surface flaws.
I chose Armstrong, Terraza Grand vinyl tiles, we purchased from Lowe’s hardware store.
Dale used a True Headlight to stay focus, when cutting the tile. Vinyl Tile Tip: For some of the tricky cutting he used a poster board to make templates for a perfect fit.
We are so happy with the floors! The dark vinyl tiles gives the room a fresh look and complements the white walls.
Thank you for visiting.
